My path to design ran through code — and that's exactly why I think about products the way I do.
I started with a Computer Engineering degree, building software before I ever opened a design tool — structure first, then the surface. Somewhere between shipping features and watching people struggle with them, I moved into UI/UX, and never looked back.
Today I do both. I research and design the experience, then build the front-end myself, so nothing gets lost in translation between the Figma file and the codebase. Five years in, across FinTech SaaS, mobile, and AI, I've learned I'm most useful in the space between designers and developers — where most products quietly break.
Right now I lead UX strategy for a FinTech SaaS platform at ASL Consulting in Toronto, maintaining a modular design system and shipping accessible, responsive interfaces.
